Ray Williams

Ray Everett Williams was born on August 9, 1940 in Houston, TX. He was saved and baptized as a teen in Deer Park, Texas. He preached his first sermon at Second Baptist Church of Deer Park in 1965. He later surrendered to the ministry and moved to Henderson, Texas to enroll in Texas Baptist Institute and Seminary in September of 1971. The same year he began pastoring at Sulphur Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Enterprise, TX. He pastored there from 1971—1976. In April of 1976 he was called to pastor at Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Longview, Tx where he pastored and served faithfully for 43 years until the Lord called him home on November 18,2019.While attending TBI, he used his skills as a carpenter to help with the construction of the Kirkland Memorial Auditorium, the entry and offices at TBI, and several of the apartment complexes on campus. He also helped with the design and construction of Pine Springs Baptist Camp in Laneville, TX. He assisted with the building of the original Tabernacle, Cafeteria, and Men’s and Ladies’ dormatories as well as the pavillions used for classes.
