John 10:27-30 “Safe in the Hands of God”

I. How to get in the Hands of God.

            A. Jesus referred to “My sheep” in verse 27.

1. (John 10:9)  I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

2. (John 3:16)  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17)  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18)  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

                        3. To believe in Him is to believe:

                                    a. Who He is.

                                    b. That He died for your sins.

                                    c. That He can save you.

                                    d. His promise is true that He will save all those who ask.

II. What one has when he is in the Hands of God.

            A. One has Eternal Life.  (John 10:28)  And I give unto them eternal life;

B. One has assurance that he will never perish.  (John 10:28) …and they shall never perish, …

C. One has security from enemies.  (John 10:28) …neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand.

D. One becomes a new creature. (2 Cor 5:17)  Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

E. One has a new birth.  (John 3:6)  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7)  Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

F. One has an incorruptible inner man.  (1 Peter 1:23)  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 24)  For all flesh [is] as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: 25) But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

III. How can one get out of the Hands of God.

            A. In order to get out of the hands of God you must be stronger than God.

                        John 10:29-30

            B. In order to get out of the hands of God, God must go back on His word.

                        John 10:28, Eph 4:30

            C. In order to get out of the hands of God, God must give up His Holy Spirit.

                        2 Cor 1:21-22

            D. In order to get out of the hands of God, your spirit must sin.

                        1 John 3:9, 1 John 5:18

            E. What happens to one in the Hand of God who sins in the flesh?

                        1 John 1:10, Hebrews 12:6-8
